We are experiencing an increase in students running off from class, wandering the campus, attempting to climb fences to leave the school, and refusing to walk in when the adult intervenes. This is happening with students as young as Kindergarten. Wondering if other schools are experiencing this. Also wondering if anyone has found a good remedy.

@pbis-world This is also a big problem at my school.  Have you found any good solutions?

We are having the same issue. Specially our kinder and 1st graders leaving the classroom and running around the campus. We have done some teaching of social skills and a token system, but it has not helped. They still refuse to listen and they see the running as a fun game. I came on here for suggestions as well.

thank you!

Hi, Monica,

Sounds like a frustrating trend.  Are the kids doing this mostly when the teacher or adult isn't looking (sneakily), or are the kids doing it in front of the teacher/adult, knowing they are watching and wanting to be seen?
