Our high school has been seeing a major increase in students skipping class. They don't leave campus, they just meet up in hallways and bathrooms. When we chase them from one spot they show up in another. When they are caught they are either taken back to class or escorted to our intervention room. The intervention room is not effective as students now see it as a place they can go INSTEAD of class. This is a very frustrating behavior, but none of us can think of logical consequences that aren't exclusionary and won't reinforce the behavior.
HELP!!!!!!
